African Nations Cup Competition January 2010

Working in conjunction with Support in Sport, who laid the four African Nations Cup Competition pitches, we were asked to go out to Angola, West Africa, to maintain these newly constructed pitches in preparation for and during the cup competition. The four main stadiums were in Benguela, Luanda, Lubango and Cabinda. Benguela had three training grounds: Fella Via, Benfica and Sierra de Mont.

On arrival in Africa, the pitches had just been seeded and were ready for their first cut. Our work involved fertilising, cutting, watering, aerating and maintaining the pitches to international playing standard throughout the competition.
